Rexulti Lawsuit

Bowen Painter Trial Lawyers is investigating the drug Rexulti (brexPIPRAZOLE) and its potential undisclosed side effects such as compulsive behavior. Rexulti is a medication typically prescribed for the treatment of depression and schizophrenia. Like its predecessor ABILIFY (ariPIPRAZOLE), Rexulti may cause compulsive gambling, compulsive sexual behavior, compulsive shopping, compulsive eating and other compulsive behavior. These behaviors can ruin lives and families.

Rexulti is manufactured by OTSUKA AMERICA PHARMACEUTICAL, INC. and was approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on July 10, 2015.

Rexulti Side Effects

The most serious side effects of Rexulti may include:

  • Uncontrollable Compulsive Behaviors – Gambling, sex, shopping, eating.
  • Extrapyramidal Effects – Acute dyskinesias and dystonic reactions, tardive dyskinesia, Parkinsonism, akinesia, akathisia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
  • Suicidal Thoughts – Particularly in children, teenagers and young adults.

Is Rexulti the Same as Abilify?

Rexulti and Abilify are the same KIND of drug and are made by the same manufacturer. Chemically they are very similar. In fact, many critics contend that when the patent period expired on the extremely profitable Abilify, the manufacturer slightly altered the chemical formula and re-patented the drug as Rexulti. Because the drugs are so similar, experts are concerned that the well-known risks of Abilify also exist in Rexulti. Although the manufacturer has now been forced by the FDA to warn about the compulsive behavior associated with Abilify, these warnings are not being given to patients taking Rexulti.

Is There a Lawsuit Over Rexulti’s Dangerous Side Effects?

Our firm is working to investigate and file individual lawsuits on behalf of anyone whose lives have been destroyed by Rexulti and Otsuka’s failure to disclose these dangers, even though it knew about them.
